When looking around I see a lot of great WordPress blogs, who are self hosted and self managed offcourse.
Most of this WordPress sites are not connected well as an WP Network on Empire Avenue, so their activity and engagement will never show up, even when the blog is connected to EA. Their EA network score will stay on 1.
Also the avg div/share they pay daily to their Shareholders regarding the WP Network is Zero.
Recently I talked with Linda Kerlund (e)KERLUND74
See had this problem with her beautiful self hosted blog KerlundPhoto
And I talked with Robert Frank (e)RFRANK
Robert arrived the 31th Jan 2015 on the Avenue and I noticed, he had his self hosted WP blog WorkWithRobertFrank directly well connected!
Based on Robert’s Information and Tips and Linda’s parallel digging into this problem we find a solution for all people who have a Self Managed WP site and having problems to connect their blog Properly!
Follow next steps to make the right connection:
1/ You need too install the JetPack WordPress Plugin prior before connecting to EA. AND be sure you have activated “site verification” in the settings of this Plugin.
The WordPress JetPack adds powerful features including customization, traffic, mobile, content, and performance tools.
>>> Especially the traffic and perfomance tools are communicating during the daily activity collect by Empire Avenue regarding your traffic, activity, likes, comments, reblogs etc.
2/ Be sure you logged in on your WP site as administrator before you connect your blog to EA
There are always Pro’s and Contra’s to install this JetPack Plugin, but If you want to be connected well on Empire Network its mandatory.
OK! When you connected Well >>> Don’t expect that your Network score will rise to the Sky directly, your Network score is based on your last 60 days blog activity at the moment EA can collect! So your Network score will grow slowly step by step and also you daily Dividend payout to your Shareholders.
If anybody have other Idea’s just comment this post! If necessary this post will be Updated.
Cheers and see you around!
Gerrit
Great article! Thanks for the mention! I actually like the jetpack plugin, it will get you some traffic as well, not sure how, I think that wordpress syndicates your content as well somehow. 🙂
Welcome Frank, I think when Jetpack plugin is installed you also showup in the WordPress Reader, so you followers will directly see your new Posts! That could answer why there is more traffic when using this plugin.
That is the case. I followed my own blog just to check how it works and it works that way.
Thanks Gerrit
Welcome Kamal
Great written! Thank you for the mention, appreciated! I really hope this might help others:)
It’s not always easy to manage things all alone in the web-world;) Great that there are possibilities to help each other.
Thanks Linda and agreed that we need each other to find solutions! Always!!

JetPack is a “Rolls Royce” plugin with more than 30 modules… and you can decide which to activate and not…
Now when you are self-hosted, you are using wordpress. ORG
But, because the JetPack plugin developpers are from wordpress . COM, you will still need an account with wordpress. COM (it does not mean you need another blog, and it can be same user name…)
So, your wordpress. ORG self hosted blog will be connected to wordpress. COM via JetPack…
Agreed with you Dom! after your opinion its a little bit strange when you decided to choose for a .ORG for certain reasons >>> WordPress is redirect you to a .COM through the JetPack Plugin!! As I mentioned it has his Pro’s and Contra”s….
